The original name for S'Mores was "Some Mores". Folklore tells us the name came about because everyone who roasted one ask for "some more". The name was later shortened to what we now refer to as 'S'Mores' around 1971.
The first printed S'Mores recipe was creditted to Loretta Scott Crew and first appeared in the 1927 Girl Scouts of America handbook called, Tramping and Trailing with the Girl Scouts.
